Impingement Syndrome

IMPINGEMENT SYNDROME is shoulder pain caused by inflammation of connective tissue ( tendons ) rubbing on a shoulder blade. ( AKA swimmer's shoulder) The supraspinatus is the most common tendon to be involved. Usually caused imbalance and/or overuse.

Scapulohumeral Rhythm is the interaction between the the scapula and the humerus. It is needed to perform overhead activities. When abnormal it will cause impingement.

Impingement can also contribute to bursitis and tendinitis.
