Proper stroke mechanics will help prevent common swimming injuries causing damage to the rotator cuff.

Causes of rotator cuff injuries

Tears and strains due to over use is the most common cause of rotator cuff injury.

The shoulder is on of the most complex joints in the body.

The rotator cuff is made up of four muscles.

  1. Supraspinatus

  2. Infraspinatus

  3. Tres minor

  4. Subscapularis

Damage to one or more of these muscles or tendons is considered a rotator cuff injury.
